The Imaginative Storm Method

Feeling stuck, stifled, or unsure how to begin your writing?
You’re not alone—and it’s not your fault.

Most writing advice tells you to “write what you know.” But that’s exactly what stifles your imagination.

Imaginative Storm show you a different path—one that frees your creativity, silences your inner critic, and helps your writing flow with clarity, confidence, and emotional power.

We teach you to write what you don’t know—so you surprise yourself and rediscover your voice every time you sit down to write.

When you write what you don’t know, you will:

  • Break through writer’s block

  • Write with emotional truth and power

  • Cultivate your unique writing voice

  • Stop overthinking and start flowing

  • Turn confusion into creative clarity

  • Feel alive, awake, and fully connected to your words

The Imaginative Storm isn’t just a writing method—it’s a creative rebellion. If you’re ready to trade predictability for possibility, you’ve found your people.

The Creators of Imaginative Storm

Allegra Huston & James Navé

We come from very different writing worlds—literary and performance, publishing and poetry—but that’s exactly what makes this work so powerful for you.

Together, we’ve developed a method that speaks to every kind of writer—structured or freeform, hesitant or bold. Whether you're writing your first sentence or your fifth book, we help your rational mind dance with your imagination—and create work that’s unmistakably your own.

What makes our collaboration so unique and powerful?

How the Imaginative Storm Method Works

You don’t need to write perfectly. You just need a way in.

That’s what the Imaginative Storm method gives you—a simple, powerful writing practice that unleashes your imagination, breaks through writer’s block, and delivers your voice onto the page.

Here’s how it works:

  • You write by hand, using a 10-minute timer to focus your mind.

  • You follow a creative writing prompt—questions, images, word lists, sounds.

  • You don’t try to “write well.” You write freely and without judgment.

  • You read your words aloud to hear your natural rhythm and tone.

Each time you do this, your creative flow strengthens. Your ideas multiply. Your writing becomes more vivid, more confident, more you.
